Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Receipts (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Receipts app and receipts.bingo, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account data. When you sign in with Apple we receive a stable Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address (or an Apple private relay address).
- Receipt data. The merchant, amount, currency and purchase date of receipts you save. Text recognition runs on your device; the receipt photo itself stays on your device unless a future feature asks you to upload it, in which case we will say so in the app.
- Rewards data. Reward balances and transactions, and a wallet address if you link one for payouts.
- Device and usage data. App version, device model, OS version, crash reports and basic analytics about how the app is used. We do not collect precise location.
How we use it
- To operate the Service: sign you in, store your receipts, calculate and pay rewards.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, such as duplicate or fabricated receipts.
- To improve the Service and fix problems.
- To communicate with you about your account, rewards and changes to the Service.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service (hosting, databases, crash reporting, blockchain infrastructure for payouts), with authorities when required by law, and in connection with a merger or acquisition. Payouts to a wallet you link are recorded on a public blockchain and are visible to anyone.
Retention
We keep your account and receipt data while your account is active. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and delete your receipts and delete your account from the app.
- You can hide your email from us by choosing Apple’s “Hide My Email” at sign-in.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Session tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your device protected.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Changes
We will post updates here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
